A Peeling | Poem

See...I'm no ordinary snake, I'm a dragon

Peeling off my dead skins that deserve lacking

Fire indeed, I do breathe if you askin'

But not them flames only used for mass damage

Yo, I'm the light in your eyes and the bright in the sky

Some dare to call me a black devil in disguise

But my shades closer to the likes of rainbows

It's why my head you will never see hang low

Never owned a halo nor a pair of horns

Passion and wisdom beats at my core

Far from the norm, I don't chill on clouds

I'd rather dance to the rhythm of lightning sounds

Bounce too if you're filled with my groove

Life never stops playing so I'm always on the move

Peep my true hue through the sun or the moon

Can't change what I am regardless of what you do,

Or what you know nor how you view me

I didn't choose my form, the form chose me

Grow with full speed is what the winds told me

Let my fire breathe, pay no mind to cold feet

Raise them wings, stretch them free, and soar

So I'll go, soaring with everything I got

Long as I continue being everything but what I'm not

'Cause I ain't no snake hombre, sí?

I'm a dragon, peeling off my dead skins that deserves lacking
