conSOLation scribes | Poem
Updated: Aug 31
My worst fear came true,
Prophesied by when Spirits came through
Lost my temper, burnt the house
Broken friendship, I’m buried under ground
Down on hope, low on faith
My sense of self tied to this fate
Blood was bled, tears are shed
Denied of access, a text I read
Led me to this point, the roles I played
Created horror nights, and mourning days
Reconciliation and inner work comes
One realizes that time has done
Debts I’ll pay for the woes I’ve sown
Consequences, too well I’ve known
Afraid of their response, will they cut me off
For the side that shows I’m human after all
Masking perception, forms the deception
I can handle whatever, failed in great perfection
Fallen from grace, the floor I broke bad
Rebuilding the good to claim what I once had
Sad ever still for the hearts I hurt
For what I’ve done to them I feel much worse
They will decide as they may, do right by them
Hoping the light I be is not a forgotten gem
Till then, I walk into the valley alone
Tallying my sins, the reasons to save my soul.
